Without a doubt, some of the most interesting places are those that are on the roads less traveled. These photographs attempt to tell the story of those places but can never replace those actual pieces of history experienced in person.

I would have ideally liked to do a square book for this project but, most of my pictures are rectangular instead of square so I think the Large Landscape book will work better. I would like to work with premium paper on this book as well and make it a hard back book. It will definitely have text so I can tell the story of these pictures, the font will probably look like a font of a handwriting style. I am still debating whether I want to do a purely black and white book, only color, or both. The print standards look like they may only do one or the other. I want the book to look nostalgic but some of the colored pictures are really beautiful as well. I would appreciate any feedback ..thanks.

  1. The way you are describing your book format sounds great. I think it is very important to have text with your photos, even if it is just the location name or something. Most of your images do give me the nostalgic feeling regardless of if they are in color or black and white, so either way I think will work. I think a mixture of both may be the strongest, and I think you can that on Blurb, not for sure though. :]

  2. The colors in most of your photos are really strong so I'm definitely leaning toward color. The subject matter itself would give it a nostalgic feel and the text is definitely needed. I think a text that looks like handwriting is a great idea.

  3. The 1st, 2nd, and 5th images are the best in my eyes. Most iconic Pensacola buildings out of this set.

  4. I think it's funny that the pensacola buildings are the most attractive in this set as well. Really beautiful images!

  5. It would be easier to tell you what works if we could look at some test layouts. I was hoping to see book layouts here. (see Sabra's) If it was not clear, I apologize, but that is what I am expecting for next week.

Otherwise, the images are looking good, keep going.(I vote for color, unless you make up some tale about the events surrounding the photos that are dated.)

    it will be lovely.
